I am a Senior Lecturer in Signal Processing with the School of Electrical Engineering and
Telecommunications at The University of
New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. I also have a joint appointment as a
Senior Researcher with National ICT Australia,
in the ATP Laboratory, where I work on methods for the real
time measurement of cognitive load using behavioural
and physiological signals. My research interests include applications of speech
modelling (in particular to speaker recognition and emotion recognition from
speech) and genomic signal processing (in particular sequence analysis). I have
also worked on aspects of human computer interaction, including multimodal
interfaces and computer-supported cooperative work.
Prospective masters or PhD students, please consult further information here and feel free to contact me directly at
to discuss
potential topics.
Students looking for honours thesis topics,
please consult the school
database.
