Julien Epps

I am a Senior Lecturer in Signal Processing with the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. I also have a joint appointment with National ICT Australia, in the ATP Laboratory, where I work on the Decision Support for Incident Management (DSIM) project. My research interests include applications of speech modelling (e.g. speaker recognition, emotion recognition from speech), genomic signal processing (in particular sequence analysis), and applications of digital signal processing and pattern recognition. I have also worked on aspects of human computer interaction, including multimodal interfaces and computer-supported cooperative work.

Prospective masters or PhD students, please contact me directly at unswto discuss potential topics. Students looking for honours thesis topics, please consult the school database.
